La Placita Mexican Restaurant in Madison

Chips and salsa were amazing. I usually like chunky salsa over more blended salsa but the flavor was incredible that I didn't mind. staff was extremely nice. We don't know much english but my wife tried to say a few things in Spanish during the meal and the waiter seemed happy and enjoyed it. the food was really good. I got a beef supreme burrito. the guacamole on top was super fresh and flavorful. Great experience. We will be back! As I'm writing this I'm craving it. Can't wait to try something new next time!

Great place. I am a sucker for cilantro and garlic in my salsa, and this place delivers a great table version. If you come here often enough, the girls will bring you your usual drink without hesitation. A very welcoming and enjoyable place at any time.

This place is pretty good. A friend suggested we should check it out and its definitely on the top of my list for Mexican restaurants.

La Placita is by far the BEST Mexican restaurant in Madison. They serve your typical Mexican food however the quality is always consistent. I'm a purist, so I either opt for Chicken and Rice or 2 Tacos with Rice. You can never go wrong with anything on the menu here. The owner is one of the nicest, most genuine people you'll ever meet, and you'll feel right at home here.

Love this Mexican restaurant. They give you free chips and salsa before ordering; the salsa is really good. They have a big menu. I've only ever had the fajitas and the chicken and rice dish, but both were great. They also have a decent number of vegetarian dishes; one of my friends got one and said it was good. Be aware that some of the staff have trouble with English, so specific requests may get confused easily.

Amazing little restaurant. We went there for lunch. The chips and salsa to start are really good but if you want a change and you like some authentic taste, ask for some Salsa Verde, it’s some of the best. The food has never disappointed and it’s a quiet place to have a great meal and talk. We will be going back as this place has better food than some of the larger and more expensive comida locales.

I no longer lived in this area but they're very very friendly they go above and beyond your expectations the food is delicious the services quick became good friends with the owner! I highly recommend this place

SOOOO GOOD!!! First of all, the chips and salsa were PERFECT. The chips were so thin and crisp and the salsa was blended (my preference) and so flavorful! NOW I was a little bit difficult because I made my own order that wasn't on the menu, the waiter didn't speak a ton of English, but he was patient with me to make sure we got it right! I ordered a California Burrito (west cost cravings kicking in) which is a burrito with steak,french fries, cheese, guac and sour cream). They made it and it was perfect! I am extremely happy with the food and the service and will DEFINITELY be back!!

Super delicious food! I get the Pollo la Placita every time and it's so good! The best salsa ever and always quick service.

My wife and I have been to La Placita three before. Once on a Friday when there was live music was there and the guitarist and bass players were fantastic. The Second time when staff called in with the flu. Which I am thankful they were not at work. Both times the food was great and the servers, even short staff were quick and attentive. The last time the food my wife had the Pollo Acapulco which was good, but my Barbacoa was a bit salty, which is typical in certain parts but different than the dishes I had in El Paso and Houston. Next time I will stick with the Carnitas, or the Carne Asada, which were great.

The employees are friendly, courteous and willing to be of assistance. The food is great, my favorite dinner choice is the Pescado Vallarta, my husband loves all their burritos and enchiladas. On most Friday nights there is a guitarist during dinner.

Very, very busy at 12:30 on a Sunday after church. Service was slow I think because of that. Food was delicious and well priced

Service was great. Food was wonderful. One of the biggest takeaways is that this place serves fresh tortilla chips. I can't think of anyone else in the area who does that.

We eat there Sunday evening, well planned on eating there. Once we got seated and got drinks, we then ordered and waited, waited, waited, waited a good 25-30 minutes. Then the hostess ask if we were ready for our check, prior to getting our food. I kindly informed her that we hadn't received our food, then ask our waitress to check on our order after sitting there another 10 minutes after the hostess had ask that. The manager, I guess, comes out and apologizes and says our order is being prepped, after sitting there another 5-8 minutes, we decided to leave and never return, nor do I recommend it to anyone else. HORRIBLE

The food is always always always delicious, the service is always spectacular. My husband and I have been eating here for years now, it is one of our favorite places to eat.

So good we ordered food two days in a row! The Chorizo Queso was so so good. The people are so nice and the food was ready in 10 minutes like they said. I plan to dine in but the “to go” was wonderful. Pictures show the #11 Combination: Beef Burrito, Beef Enchilada & Beef Taco; Shrimp Chimichanga (Special); Fried Ice Cream, Flan & Choriqueso. The prices are good $$ ... This is a must try in Madison

The food is amazing with many different dishes to try out Everytime you go. The servers are extremely nice and attentive to refill drinks or bring out more chips etc. I absolutely love the variety in everything I get there as it is not just normal plain Mexican cuisine but truly spectacular flavors in dishes such as the one in the picture. definitely a gem worth checking out.

Food was okay. Service was slow, two waiters seemed confused when asked if they had skinny margaritas. No music playing, kind of a cramped environment.

Saw a pic on Google maps of one of their dishes. Showed it to server and he showed cook. Got what I wanted and it was AWESOME! Service was superb!

I highly recommend it! It's a lot like El Coyote in the sense they make the food right and with the good stuff. The salsa is not spicy, and goes great with the food! The location is great and all the staff are attentive, even when busy so if you need something you are covered. We go all the time!

Chips salsa cheese dip are.all excellent for starters. Everything on the menu is great especially the chipolte cheese sauce over the shrimp burrito. Please support this small family business you won’t be disappointed

Food is great, but customer service is terrible! (at least for take out) We ordered through grub south and they only offer ONE SMALL TINY cup of salsa and a "cigarette" size bag of chips for 4 different orders. Then they charged $6 extra dollars because we order extra chips and salsa. What Mexican restaurant doesn't give you chips and salsa? Will be last time we order from here.

I’ve only been there once, however it was a great experience. I don’t write many reviews, but I felt this was definitely one to write one on. The staff I got to meet were so friendly and made absolutely certain that I was satisfied. The food is also amazing! Definitely one of my new favorite restaurants. I recommend to anyone!

My family and I eat here every Friday night and Sunday afternoon. Fantastic food and great service. The servers are quick and polite. Food is reasonably priced.
